A small shop, taken seriously.

Fly Science is a one-person sewing shop in Northern Colorado, building accessory and life-safety gear for skydivers and BASE jumpers.

It started the way most of these stories start. A jumper who could sew, a few friends who needed a stash bag or a custom belly band, and a sewing machine that kept getting more use than the day job warranted.

What started as side income is now a real business. Fly Science Manufacturing operates as a Colorado LLC, with proper insurance, written records, and the structure to grow without losing what makes the work good.

The shop is still small on purpose. Every order is built on the same bench, by the same hands, with the same standard applied — whether the product is a $3 keeper or a serialized pilot chute.

01 How we work

Made to order, by hand

No production runs sitting in a warehouse. No SKU shortages. Most products are built after they're ordered, sized to the customer, in the colors they actually want.

Materials worth using

F-111, ZP, type 17 webbing, type IIA tape, the right thread, the right hardware. Logged on receipt with supplier, lot ID, and the spec they meet.

Records kept

Pilot chutes are serialized, photographed, and inspected twice. The build record is created during the build, not after, and retained for the life of the product.

Honest about what we do — and don't do

Fly Science makes components. Your rigger fits them to your system. We build the product to spec; the system is your call.
